Everything else but!

As a D/s couple living with a family there are times when it's nigh on impossible to be "D/s". Around kids, it is not always practical, or sensible to act or even talk in a D/s way. While we remain committed to our lifestyle the needs of the children often eclipse to a great extent our ability to be Master and sub. We can find ways to interact when the children are here of course.. even through the computers, and those little looks and touches, the triggers which we use daily. But all too often the needs of the kids, which we both agreed from the outset must come first, stop everything else. When "mum" kicks in "sub" goes missing. A mum and her children are sort of a D/s relationship anyway, so mum being mum is a Domme personality. That then stops the natural submissive coming to the fore, and so it becomes ever harder to "practice" a Master/sub lifestyle when the kids are about.

Naturally we can do this when they are in bed, but the time that gives us is short, and our D/s ought not to be confined to the bedroom. Result is that one finds frustrations in the inability to do what we want to: this then creates pressures and stresses we should not have to deal with.

What's the answer? God Knows!
