Fantasy...nahhhh
I read this weekend in a site that all d/s people are simply living a fantasy. How wrong can people be? My life is based around D/s. I can be nothing else. It's what I am. I know too that I speak for cleo as well when we say that our D/s is real. We don't do fantasy. Our lifestyle is what we make it. It is created out of all that we have, and all that we are. While we are Master and sub, we are parents too, and human beings, with realities which happen daily. What we don't do, at least what we try not to, is to allow a single part of the lives we have to eclipse any other part. Sometimes the D/s takes a back seat, other times it comes to the fore.
Finding that balance is the art of our D/s. We don't always succeed and from time to time we realise we just didn't "do" any real D/s for a while so we then have to realign our time and review what went wrong, and how we can make it better. That's not fantasy, that's reality.
Of course fitting all this around the kids and daily life is not easy. Too often I think people give up and slip into either becoming "bedroom D/s" or occasional D/s practitioners. I guess if that works for them so be it. For those of us committed to living D/s daily in all we do, that would be unthinkable.
