D/s communities...Boring

Sat and watched the other half all evening using an MSN Lifestyle chatroom. God, MSN is boring these days. Nobody knows what to say, except "Hi and Bye", with the odd exception of the posturing of some wannabee sub or Dom.

Lots of: "..this girl thinks she should kneel while wearing her silken gown blah blah..." or "Kneel sub in the presence of the Master!....blah blah" (whom she had probably never even encountered before he dropped into the chat about 20 seconds before)

These chat rooms have become stagnant and futile. It would seem that those who now pay for the MSN service, because you cant get MSN chat unless you pay for it nowadays, appear to HAVE to go in to get their money's worth. Once in the chat, they don't have anything to say and therefore the room might have 20, 30 or more people in it, but nobody is actually speaking.

We run a chat room, sure, but ours at least encourages some kind of interaction. We are not on MSN now, we run our own chat server. We have always tried to appeal to real people, to get to know the person behind the name, and to help and encourage where we can. Wannabees and players last about 5 seconds with us.

Talking about D/s things (as always) I am a member of a large number of D/s communities, also hosted on MSN, many of which were vibrant places for online debate and discussion but now? In the past week I have yet to find a single community of which I am a member that has posted a message board thread to do with D/s. These groups keep increasing their membership, but all they ever seem to do is post messages saying "welcome to our home"...sheesh. Then the new member goes into hibernation in cyberspace, and is never heard of or seen again!

Perhaps they should say "Welcome to our home, post a valid D/s thread within 24 hours our you're out buddy!"
